The group was founded in 1986 by Dennis and Jean Nash at Rycroft Hall in Audenshaw. It has enjoyed over 36 years of success, with many former members going on to pursue careers in theatre as dancers, actors, stage crew and costume designers. The group is run by volunteers who are experienced leaders and teachers within the field.

The group produces two shows each year: a pantomime in January and a musical in July.
