Altrincham Little Theatre
The origins of Altrincham Little Theatre date back to 1896, when it was founded as The St Margaret’s Church Institute Amateur Dramatics Society. Emerging from church-based Bible reading groups, early productions were presented at tea functions, with performances pausing during both World Wars before resuming and evolving under the name The Club Theatre.
Since 1947, the theatre has grown to produce five plays a season at its current home, occupied since 1962. Run entirely by volunteers, it is committed to high-quality performance and the development of new writing, has received regional awards, and adopted the name Altrincham Little Theatre in 2012.
